DURATION: 20 Minutes
FILM TEAM: Anturus Science StoryLab
DATES: October 2023
ON SCREEN TALENT: These films will be presented and narrated by Huw James. Included are discussions with athletes, , locals and experts.
STORY: Our team will travel to Rhodes to make a running film on this spectacular island recently devastated by wild fires. It will centre around a runner (Huw James) as he runs through the ashes of the forests of Rhodes. We will speak to local runners and organisations. We will approach the Rhodes Marathon team to involve local runners and trail running communities as well as taking part in the Rhodes Marathon 2024. We will include news footage and archival footage to tell the story of the running community on Rhodes.
PURPOSE: Athletes and Outdoors people see our world changing more than most. They spend their time in the most sensitive regions of our planet. Here we use running to show people how climate change is causing lasting effects for communities world wide.
LOCATION: Rhodes, Greece.
EXAMPLE
We created a 20 minute film for Hong Kong Science Festival about how we use drones to 3D model glaciers. The film looked at the current way we monitor glaciers and how new technology can help us look at how glaciers are changing and what that means for the local people.
